It seems like it has been forever since I have posted on my blog. YIKES! It has been forever...or at least 5 months. ;) Where does the time go? Since moving back to Alabama life has kept me so busy that there doesn't seem time to craft these days, but I am trying to find time to at least make some cards. I recently finished 100 wedding invitations & while I was at it I decided to make a few cards to share.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss...

Today is Dr. Seuss' 107th birthday. My niece's (Anna Scott) 2nd grade class had a birthday party for him this morning. She wanted to take cupcakes & of course I wanted to make something to send to her for the party. I made Dr. Seuss cupcake toppers. Her Mimi made the cupcakes for her. The cute tutu skirt was made by her Mom. Their neighbor appliquéd a Dr. Seuss panel on her shirt with Anna Scott's favorite quote, "I know it is wet and the sun is not sunny, but we can have lots of good fun that is funny."

It was fun to finally get my crafting mojo back. Dr. Seuss is one of my favorites, but I am sure that my husband is tired of me walking around spouting quotes from the books. ha! My favorite this week is "When a fox is in the bottle where the tweetle beetles battle with their paddles in a puddle on a noodle-eating poodle." That's a tongue twister! :)

24 hours until kickoff! Words can not express my excitement! It has been a long wait to see my AUburn Tigers in the National Championship game. Thought I would share a few of my favorite AU items. They have all been a must for every game this season (except for the basket..it was a Christmas gift). :)

It has been so long since I signed on to my blog that it took a while to remember my password. Sad! :( I'm going to try to do better in 2011. I wanted to wish everyone all the best in the New Year! 2010 was a trying year, but I'm looking forward to a much better year in 2011. I'm ready to get back into crafting. I've missed it and all my blog friends.

Good news!! Have you heard that my AUburn Tigers are playing in the national championship? ;) We are beyond excited! It has been a long time coming & I can't wait until Monday - 1/10/11! War Eagle!!

I do have one thing to share. I wanted a new wreath to hang above my mantle. I didn't want to buy one so I made mine using ornaments & supplies that I had on-hand. It is a BIG wreath and weighs a ton, but I'm happy with the way it turned out. I spent a total of $8 on a few extra supplies. Look forward to hearing what you think about it! :)

My next goal is to make some cards to share...hope that I haven't forgotten how to make them. haha! I would love to do some quick, easy card challenges. If you know of any please share them with me. Thanks!

I'm finally feeling better....this sinus infection has been never-ending. :-( Thanks for all the sweet emails & posts...I appreciate your thinking of me. :-)

As some of you know my niece Kaesey is my biggest fan, she loves anything that I make. :-) She is becoming very crafty herself. I'm looking forward to her next visit. She called me a few weeks ago and needed a gift for a friend's birthday. She told that anything I wanted to make was fine, but all her friends loved the paperclip bookmarks that we made. I decided on an altered clipboard & paperclip bookmark for her friend McKenzie. They have been shipped & I hope that she enjoys her gifts.

Who Dat? Geaux Saints!!

Have to give a shout-out to the New Orleans Saints this Super-Bowl Sunday. Growing up in Louisiana I've waited all my life to see the Saints in a "Supa-Beauxl". Today is the day!! :-) To say I'm Supa-Excited is an understatement. I only wish they weren't playing the Colts...they are my 2nd favorite team. The Colts & Peyton Manning are a class-act. I had the pleasure of knowing Peyton during his early years at UT and he is truly one of the nicest young men you could ever wish to meet. With that being said...I still must root for my Saints!! Geaux Saints!! May the best team win. :-)

Sorry that I haven't shared any more cards this week. I have had an icky sinus infection and terrible headaches, so my cards didn't get completed. :-( I'm feeling much better & coloring some images now...hope to have them finished soon. I have found more super-cute digital stamps this weekend...my latest find is Sassy Cheryl's. Adorable!! Love that instant download feeling. :-) Between Cheryl & Mo I'm in coloring heaven. There are a few other sites that I found, but haven't purchased yet...will let you know the verdict as soon as I decide which ones to buy. Decisions...decisions!!

Time for me to go have a beauxl of Geaux Saints Gumbo......mmmmmm!! My husband is the best Cajun cook. It's in his blood!!

Sketch & Stash Challenge - Birthday Card

Hope that everyone had a fun weekend...I've been working on my computer again. :-( Finally got it to recognize my camera. Whoot!! :-)

I found another fun blog challenge (Sketch & Stash Challenge) & had to play along. I love sketch challenges & this blog has some of the cutest sketches.

Here's the challenge:
Every 2 weeks there will be a sketch to follow. You can rotate the sketch, resize the elements and add extra elements if needed.
The second part of the challenge is to use your newest stash on your card. You can use a new paper, new stamp, new embellishments etc. They can all be new or just one thing which is new, that's up to you!
When you're posting your card on your blog please let everyone know what your new item is, the make or manufacturer and a link to where you bought it from if possible!

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge

I'm finally back...I had a wonderful birthday & anniversary. :-)

Last week while searching for Digital stamps I found Mo's Digital Pencil. Oh my gosh...I am in love with her images. I have only purchased 2 so far, but have many more on my wish list. She has a fun challenge blog & I decided to play along this week. This is the card I made with her I Love Ya, Tomorrow stamp.

I've been practicing with my Copics again. I must say coloring with reds & oranges was a challenge for me. More practice is needed, but overall I am pleased with the card. The image is so adorable...it makes me smile. :-)

I still haven't finished any cards to share. I am working on several...just can't seem to get them finished. ha!! I received some more pressies in the mail today...this is from the "bestest" hubby ever. :-) I have been trying to complete my Copic Ciao Set B, but also like the Sketch markers, too. I'll be honest...I want them all and the airbrush system. haha!!

Anyhow...this is my loot for the day. It's been a fantastic birthday week and my birthday isn't until tomorrow. WOOT!!

These were ordered from The Merri Artist in McMinnville, Oregon. I have to say they have the BEST customer service, great prices, & lightening fast shipping. These were ordered Monday @ 1:30 pm and my order was here today (Alabama). That is FAST!! I highly recommend them.

Going to work on those cards again, now that I have some much needed Copic colors. ;-) Anyone have any tips on the best paper to use? I've tried quite a few and I'm still having some bleeding. :-(

Day 4: AUburn Fleece Blanket

Hard to believe that I've posted 4 days in a row. WOOT!! As most of you know we are HUGE AUburn fans. I have been wanting to make Clay a blanket for a long time and this was the year. Of course, I didn't start on it until the 23rd of December. Thank goodness for the BEST husband in the world...he got the fabrics even for me and cut all the fringe strips. I did the tying. Not sure I would make another one, but Clay loved it & as you can see Bai-Lee loved it, too. :-)

Believe it or not I am back with a post. It has been a hectic, crazy summer with not much time for crafting. I've been trying to get back into crafting again, but seemed to have lost my mojo for a while. :-)

Alison came to visit and we made baby shower invitations (will share them later.) Thanks Alison for kick-starting my crafting again.

Samantha posted a fun color combo challenge this week. I've been working on an order for some party invitations that fit the color combo pretty closely...finally something to share. :-)
The combo was to use these colors or close to these colors.

I really can't believe that I have become such a sporadic blogger. :-( This summer has been super busy. We have been working in the yard, on the road, & my sweet hubby had carpal tunnel surgery last week. It seems like I can rarely find time to even check my email. I'm going to catch up one of these days. :-)

I made this card for my husband for Father's Day. I'm so blessed to have him in my life. He's the best. Happy Father's Day!! I totally cased this card from the SU catalog. I didn't have the sentiment stamps used on the card, so I improvised and did that part on the computer. He loved it!! :-)

This is on hold until he recovers from his surgery. I already have my list ready for him to get started. :-)

FYI: My patio is not icky in real life...I took the photos early in the morning & the shadows made it look dirty. Just wanted to clarify that...wouldn't want anyone to think I don't clean my patio. LOL!

My life has been so crazy, hectic the past few months that I haven't been crafting much at all. We seem to stay on the go.... we're leaving again Saturday. This will only be a short weekend trip, so hopefully next week I can try to get back into the swing of things. :-) Hope that everyone is doing well....I have been having blog-hopping withdrawals.

We have a new baby in the family (Avery Kate) and we went to see her last week. She's a cutie-pie. I am sure some of you will remember this carton/tote that I made a few months ago for Avery.

Hi there....

No, I haven't vanished completely. :-) Life has kept me busy this past week. The weather was beautiful last week ...I worked moving some plants & planting new ones. That left no time for crafting. I love Spring, but miss my crafting time. I am working on a couple of things & hope to finish them tomorrow.

I do have some fun news to share with all my blogging friends. A good friend of mine (Joanna) has recently started a new business venture. Copic Colour Challenge 6

I finally finished a card...yeah me!! :-)

This card is for the Copic Colour Challenge. The Copic colors for this week:
R20 - Blush
E31- Brick Beige
RV04- Shock Pink

Luckily I had all the colors for the challenge this week. I used the R20 on Tilda's cheeks, the E31 is one of the hair colors, & I used RV04 to color the 2 pink flowers on the card. I love this Tilda...thanks for sharing it with me Marte! I have to give credit to Lauren Meader again for the sidewalk tutorial. I have used it on several cards....love it!!

Calgon Take Me Away.....:-)

This last month has definitely made me wish that Calgon would take me away. :-) I'm much better now...thanks for all the sweet emails and blog posts. They are appreciated. We worked on my craft room last week & then had friends from Illinois for a visit. Fun times! During all this my sweet hubby hurt his knee and after visiting the doctor today, it looks like knee surgery is inevitable. :-(

Now that my guests have left and my room is somewhat put together I hope to craft soon. I am in total craft withdrawal...need a fix soon. LOL!

Still have lots of work to do in my room, but thought I would share a few photos of my progress. It looks a bit naked right now. Hope to get art hung soon. Have to buy some more cubes, too. I do love the table that my husband built in the bay window. Have to add the moulding trim to the front, but it is going to be so nice to have such a big area to play. :-) My Cricut corner is a desk that I bought at an auction for $1.00 and painted. This thing weighs a ton. It has lots of storage, too. The little chest I bought for $5 and painted it. It holds stamps and other supplies. I love bargains. :-) I still have tons of craft boxes to unpack...I plan to put cabinets in the garage to store my extra supplies. I will get it all done eventually. :-)

I also have to share a beautiful card made for me by my sweet friend, Marte. Her work is stunning! We did an image swap recently and she sent me this beautiful card along with some of the cutest images and a Tilda stamp. Can't wait to play with my new images. Thanks so much, Marte!!

I am crossing my fingers & toes that tomorrow will be a good day for crafting & blog-hopping. :-)

It is hard for me to believe that I haven't crafted in over 2 weeks. Talk about withdrawals. LOL! These last couple of weeks have been crazy. I'm feeling better, but had some problems and had to go back to the dentist last week...and again tomorrow. :-( Hope this is going to be the last of it for a while.

While I've been under the weather my husband decided to build me a work area for my craft room. He finished it today. I love it & can't wait to get it set up. As soon as I get things moved back in I will take some photos. Still have a few things left to do, but my craft room is finally coming together. YIPPEE!! Hope to be back to crafting later this week.

I Survived..:-)

Just a quick post to let you all know that I survived the oral surgery. :-) Still not quite up to crafting...maybe tomorrow. I also must say that I highly recommend sedation dentistry...this is the way to go. Don't remember anything..came home & slept for 14 hours...ate some soup and back to sleep. LOL! I was way, way loopy & did some bizarre things. My husband has had some really good laughs the last few days.

Sorry that I've been such a bad blogger this week. :-( It's been a crazy week. I cracked a tooth & it has been no fun. I had to go to the dentist several times last week. I have been so loopy from the pain meds, I thought it best that I not blog until I was clear-headed. LOL! This Thursday they will sedate me & do the needed repairs. I'm such a chicken, but now I'm nervous about the sedation. Send some good thoughts my way...pretty please. :-)

My 1st Magnolia Tilda Card....

I am so in love with my new Magnolia Tilda stamps. I got them last week, but was a little intimidated to try coloring one. Well, today was the day and I have to say I love these stamps...I really, really LOVE them!! :-) I think I am more pleased with this card than any I've ever made. It isn't perfect...but, it is my all time favorite so far. Did I mention that I love these stamps? LOL!

I have to give credit & thanks for the sidewalk idea to Lauren Meader...I found a tutorial for Copics on her blog & she tells how she does her sidewalk. I made a sidewalk...YIPPEE!! LOL!

Stamp Something Chocolate Challenge - Cake!!

It's time for another fun Stamp Something Challenge!! I love the challenges over there. :-)

Here are the deets for the challenge this week:
In keeping with the Valentine's ideas and seeing as Valentine's Day is tomorrow, we thought Chocolate would be a delicious challenge theme for this week. So, that said, create something with chocolate in mind. It could be a card made with chocolate colored papers or embellished with chocolate colored ribbons and flowers. Or you could make a project that actually uses some delicious chocolate confections....the ideas are endless and this challenge is open to your interpretation.

For a chance at this week's fabulous blog candy, which has been generously donated by our own DT member Lisa, please create your Chocolate Something and post it on your blog with a link to our site. Then comment on THIS post using the Mister Linky Feature by 7pm EST on Thursday, February 19th.

Hope that everyone is having a fun Valentine's Day!! Mine has been very nice. I have the best husband!! I'm so blessed. :-)

Here's the card that I made for him....looks so serious on the exterior. Anyone that knows me & my warped sense of humor knows that I can't make hubby a card that doesn't reflect my warped-ness (is that a word...don't think so? LOL!) I wish you all could have seen his face when he opened the card...he said "oh...it's beautiful...did you color the horse with your markers?" I could tell by the puzzled look that he was wondering....why did she give me a card with a horse on the front? Then he opened it and totally cracked up. It was too funny!! I will leave it to your imagination as to what it said...hehe!

Stamp Something Challenge....Valentine Mailbox & Card

Hope everyone is having a nice week. I finally finished a couple of things to share. :-)

As many of my blog friends know I belong to the Fairy God-Auntie program. My sweet little Agustina moved & I now have a little boy named Daniel. I am such a girly-girl when it comes to making things...it is difficult for me to come up with ideas for boys.

Anyway...I bought this Doodlebug Design flocked paper a few months ago. Thought it would be cute on the mailbox with the frog. Sorry for the icky photos...I took them real quick before shipping the box. I should have checked them before I sealed the box. Oh well...you can get an idea. The card & mailbox are much cuter in person. Hope Daniel enjoys his very green frog mailbox filled with yummy chocolate hearts. :-)

Summer in Winter (Stamp Something Challenge) & Blog Candy Links

I never seem to have time to do the challenges that I would like to do....but, when I saw this fun challenge at Stamp Something today I had to make time. :o) The challenge is "make something to add a little summer to our winter days. It can be a project with summery colors, a summer theme, anything that will warm and brighten your day."

Summer is my favorite time of year & I am ready for some fun in the sun. When we moved here this past summer I was so tickled to hear the Ice-Cream truck coming down the street. It reminded me of my sister & I running to get money when we heard the music from the Ice-Cream truck. It makes me laugh whenever I think of the Ice-Cream Man and all of us kids running and squealing like lunatics. What is it about kids & ice-cream trucks? I am sure you are wondering why I'm rambling on about an ice-cream truck....just trying to give a little background info on why I made this card. :o) The inside reads" I Scream -You Scream-We All Scream for Ice-Cream. there's always a rainbow!! :o) I love this quote & was trying to think of some way to incorporate it into a card...this is what I came up with this morning. I am still practicing with my Copics and this one took a lot of coloring. Have a long way to go yet, but I can see improvement. I'm having way too much fun with my markers. Copic Critiques Welcome!! Sorry for the late post today...I've been out enjoying the warm weather. WOW!! I'm loving the sun & warm 60's today. It is going to change tonight, so thought I would enjoy playing while it was warm & sunny. :o)

I made the girls paperclip bookmarks to send with the notebooks that I altered for them. I took a couple of quick photos before I shipped the package yesterday. The photos didn't come out very well. The colors are way off. :o( The S bookmark is on chocolate chip paper...wonder what happened! Have to practice some more with this camera. Maybe I will get better. LOL!

Photo that I took of the Old Courthouse Museum in Vicksburg, MS (our hometown) - January 2008.
Vicksburg has so much history that I took for granted while living there. We decided to play tourists for a day during our visit home.

Altered Composition Notebook...

My little niece called me the other day & asked if I could make her friend Sarah a notebook for her birthday. She loves pink & brown, so this is what I came up with for her.

Hope ya'll have had a fun weekend. I haven't crafted a thing. :o( I had good intentions, but the time just slipped away.

A little funny to share:

I have 3 older sisters & they are all talented, but really don't understand my crafting addiction. They love the things I make... but are totally clueless when they ask what I would like for my birthday or Christmas and they get a list of crafty things. :o) This year I thought I would make it very simple for them...I told them I wanted Copic Ciao Markers & gave each of them a list of 6 colors to get my Ciao B set going. I told them I would be happy with one marker, but was giving them some color choices. Two of my sisters live in Oregon & they don't have Hobby Lobby. Who knew? I told them (all 3) about a website where my hubby had purchased my Ciao Set A.

Sister #3...goes to the website & orders me 8 Ciao Markers. Yeah!!

Sister #1....goes to Art Store in Salem, Oregon & buys me 5 Sketch Markers (love them, but they are a little pricey & that is why I thought I would just get the Ciao sets). She thinks getting me markers was slighting me somehow, so she sent me some beautiful earrings & a gift certificate. I racked up!! :o)

Sister #2....bless her heart!! LOL! She takes her list & goes to Hobby Lobby...she doesn't have a clue what she's looking for, she asks an employee...they don't carry them. What? My sweet BIL is looking around and finds them...they only have the Sketch markers. She only finds 1 on the list of colors that I had given her, so she decides that just won't do....she buys me all the colors they have (19 Sketch markers). WHOO-HOO!!

I ended up with 24 Sketch Markers & 8 Ciao Markers for my birthday. Whoa!! I've got some markers now! I'm tickled, but now I think I need all of the Sketch & Ciao markers. My hubby thinks NOT! LOL! He said I need to quit admiring them & use them. hehe!!

Can you believe in all the chaos of marker shopping there were no duplicates? They did good! I have the BEST big sisters & I love them dearly....plus, they spoil me rotten! :o)

I've had a fun weekend opening all my belated b'day packages. It's been a fun week.

More Birthday Blessings...

It's me again...twice in one day! LOL! I hope ya'll don't mind me sharing my b'day goodies...I'm just so excited & thankful for all my many blessings. My family & friends are the best. Thanks so much for making my birthday so special.

Along with my beautiful cards, emails, e-cards,blog messages & phone calls, I also received a few more goodies today.

One of my sisters sent me 8 new Copics to add to my Set B...it won't be long now until I have it completed. My 2 older sisters have bought me markers, too. They might be a few days late...that's OK I love celebrating my birthday for a week. LOL! I'm in Copic heaven. Whoo-Hoo!!

I also received my replacement Cuttlebug from ProvoCraft this morning. Perfect timing!! I'm so happy to have a new bug again. :o)

Drum Roll please....and my biggie gift from my sweet, adorable, thoughtful, & handsome husband (did I use enough adjectives honey? LOL!)....a new CAMERA!! Yippee!! This was a total surprise & exactly the one I wanted. He listens well. Now I have to learn how to use it. No more whining about using his icky camera.

I better get busy reading my camera manual, so I can take some good pix to share. :o)

Weird title, huh?
Samantha (my SU demonstrator) hosted another online crop this weekend. We always have the best time & such fun challenges. Things were hectic for me this weekend & I didn't complete all the challenges...thought I would share one that I did complete. The challenge was to use black & white with one accent color. I chose yellow (not my favorite color), but it turned out OK.

I have been busy trying to organize more of my craft stuff...since we moved I discovered that I have purchased way more than I have ever used. LOL! I have been putting all my SU stamps in CD cases (no more wood mounts). I'm using acrylic blocks now. It is a bit time consuming, but oh so worth it. The space it is going to save is amazing. I found about 5 SU sets that I had never mounted/used (they are retired now). Sad!! The set I used on this card is one of those unused sets. It is time to use them! I'm trying my best to use more of what I already have & not buying so much. I know there will some things I can't live without out. LOL!

Stamp Something Challenge (Milk Carton)

Good morning....

I finally finished one of my projects to share. It wasn't complicated, I had a paper dilemma. ☺

I loved the Stamp Something Challenge this week...."For this week, we'd like you to create something NEW!! It can be made with new products(maybe some goodies you received under the tree!!), it can be using a new technique, or something for a new occasion (baby, house, job......)."

This was an easy challenge for me...I have lots of new. ☺ A new template purchased from Inking Idaho for an adorable milk carton/carrier, new Copics, new stamps, and most important a new baby coming to our family in a few months. Congrats Taylor & John! I have been wanting to make some baby things for a while now, so this is what I came up with. Haven't filled the little cartons yet, have to decide what to put in them.

I haven't completed the projects that I've been working on this weekend, so I thought I would share some ♥♥.

On Tuesday night I was working on some cards using Nestibilities in my Cuttlebug. I had the correct plate sandwich. I had done this many times, so what occurred next totally freaked me out. I mean freaked!!! I jumped across the room and my hubby came running from 2 rooms away. LOL! It sounded like a bomb (or a loud gunshot)!!

What was it....you ask?☺

The end of my Cuttlebug blew off (not the handle end)....as I was winding, there was a loud explosion and the end blew across the room. Of course, it took me a few seconds to recovery and figure out what had happened. I have heard of plates cracking, but never this. I was so sad about my bug (one of those can't live without tools). My hubby tried putting it back together, but it no longer had pressure. I went to the PC website to see about the Cuttlebug warranty. It was purchased almost a year ago for my birthday & I did not have the receipt. I decided to contact PC anyway to see if they had heard of this problem before. I received a prompt email stating that if I wanted to mail it back they would replace it. This made me so happy...just one email & my problem was resolved. I own many ProvoCraft products and have only had a few minor problems with their products. Each time they were resolved promptly. IMO...ProvoCraft has the BEST customer service. I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ them!

I will get something crafty posted soon...later today maybe!! :o)

Stamp Something Challenge & Pretty Bow...

Happy New Year....

Can you believe the New Year is here already? Happy 2009 everyone. :o) I wish for all of you a blessed, happy, & healthy New Year.

I haven't had time to do any challenges in such a long time. I saw this fun sketch at Stamp Something & had a few minutes to play today. Here's the card I made for the challenge...my first attempt with my new Copics. They are so fun.

I doubt it, but I think he did a great job on his wrapping & bows for all my gifts.

Neighbors Gifts & Crafty Christmas

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Ours was so nice & we aren't finished celebrating yet. Clay went to Louisiana for Christmas & he is coming up on Wednesday to celebrate with us. Can't wait for him to get here. We went to Knoxville over the weekend & had such a fun time visiting Karen, Kendall, Alison, Adam, Taylor, John, & Lily. I even got to meet Samantha, she is even cuter & sweeter in person. Can't wait for my next trip.

Is everyone all ready for Christmas? It is difficult to believe that it is Christmas Eve already. I've been busy baking, decorating, & wrapping gifts. I love Christmas. :o)

My camera died....

Old faithful has finally bitten the dust.:o( He was old & tired. :o) I was hoping that it was just the memory card, but a new card didn't resuscitate him either. I'm charging up my hubby's camera so that I can share a few things. I don't like DH's camera. YUCK!! Oh well, it will have to do for now. I wouldn't have asked for all those Copic Markers, if I had known that my camera was going to bite the dust. LOL!

Hope all my blogger buddies are doing well & all ready for Christmas. I'm running behind (as usual). I have been working on my Christmas cards. This is the first year that I decided to make them all. YIKES!! It is a lot of work. I have 3 different cards that I'm using. I really loved my 1st one the best, but it was taking way too long. So...I made 2 more that are quicker. I still have 40 to make. Going to try to finish them up today. Think I'm going to start in January and make 4-5 a month...hopefully I will be able to get them done & mailed early next year. :o)

Guess Who's Back? :o)

Finally, making it to my blog. What a crazy hectic life!! LOL! We arrived home from Illinois on Friday night. Brrrrr...it was sooooo cold up there. Beautiful & white, but brutally cold. I miss the snow, but not the cold.

On to crafting...
As many of you know I belong to a Fairy God-Auntie program and have a sweet little girl (Agustina) this year. We share letters & gifts with a 3rd grade class in California to let these children know that we care about them & to encourage them in school. I had a non-stop crafting weekend...they get out of school on Friday. YIKES! I had to get my package mailed yesterday. Good thing that I work well under time constraints. LOL! I was so busy packing the box that I forgot to photograph some of the items. :o(

Hope that everyone had a fun, safe, & blessed Thanksgiving. Ours was wonderful. Lots of fun & food. :o) Clay cooked his famous Cajun Fried Turkeys (secret recipe...I don't even have it...hmmm!) LOL! He did a fantastic job, they are delicious!! YUMMO!!

Sorry I don't have anything fun & crafty to share....I came down with a bug on Saturday. Think it might have been the AU/Bama game. :o( I'm feeling better today, but not up to par yet. My mother always told me not to run with scissors, but she never said anything about walking with them. I had finished my cute, cute cupcake card and all I had left was the ribbon. I got up from my craft table to walk over and get one of my ribbon jars. Forgot all about those Christmas gifts I had sitting in the floor. OOPS!! Tripped & the scissors went through my index finger. Of course, I was holding my cupcake card & blood red wasn't one of the chosen colors. I was more concerned about my card than my finger. It is much better now, just a lovely shade of purple with 2 puncture wounds. I truly am a KLUTZ. LOL! I hope to redo the card today & I will share it when I do.

Stamp Something Challenge Card

I haven't had time to participate in any challenges lately...I was excited to see the simple challenge at Stamp Something, "This week is Simple Somethings. Make us a card using only one layer of cardstock. You can embellish it, stamp it, color it, do anything you wish, but you must only use one layer!"
It looked so easy, but then when I started on my card I realized it was going to be more difficult than I thought not to use layers or patterned paper. :o)

We're home & A Christmas Card

We made it back from our trip the middle of last week, but I haven't had a chance to blog since we returned. Our trip was so much fun...this was a first class festival. I was amazed at the decorations, set-up and of course all the yummy food. We will definitely be going back next year. Almost forgot...the music was awesome. They had some of the most talented blues musicians that I've heard in a long time. Fun, fun!! I left my camera sitting on my computer desk in our rush to leave...didn't get any photos. :o(

Saturday we went to Oxford, MS for the OleMiss - Auburn football game. Had a great time in Oxford..haven't been in a long time, but my Tigers are having a disappointing season. Oh well...can't win them all, but I sure would like to beat Bama. That would make me feel a lot better about this season. :o)

I received my SU order from Samantha's SU Hostess Club and had to play a little. Love this set (Season of Joy)! This is the card I made this morning.

Gosh...it has been a hectic few weeks. We are leaving in the morning, headed to Louisiana to Pig-Fest. It's a private festival (Pig Roast) hosted by old friends of ours. I'm excited...lots of good food, music, visiting with old friends & family. I was looking for something unique to take as a gift to our friends. I came across this recipe for Pig Candy. I have been making batches all day. I'm not much of a pork person, but have to say this is pretty good stuff. This is a photo of one of my first batches. A few pieces got a little overcooked, but hubby liked it anyway. :o)

I finished the photo editing Sunday night around midnight. Yippee!! I am so happy to have that behind me. I think Lauren will be happy with her photos...can't wait for her to see the DVD.

Oops...I went MIA again!

So sorry that I haven't had a chance to post or blog hop lately. My life has been crazy busy, no time for blogging. :o) Early last week we bought dining room furniture and I've been unpacking some of my collectible dishes and putting them away. It's nice to finally have my dining room partially in order. Still need a buffet, but haven't found one that I like yet. On top of that, I am editing over 200 wedding photos and that hasn't left me any spare time. I have to finish them before we go to Louisiana next week, so that I can deliver the dvd. They are doing the printing, I'm just the editor...not a fun job. LOL!

I have a couple of cards in the works...will share them as soon as I have time to finish them.

Nothing Crafty Today...

Happy Friday....

I don't have anything crafty to share today, so I thought I would share something that happened over the weekend. As some of you know I've met a lot of wonderful people here in Alabama, but no one that crafts or stamps. Boo Hoo!! The nearest SU demonstrator is approx. 1 1/2 hours away. :o( I asked one of my neighbors if she knew of any scrapbook stores. She said there was one about 15 minutes away. I went by there and someone told me that they had moved to Florence (not too far), so I go to Florence...they had gone out of business. WAH!! I came back home and did an Internet search again....I find a reference to one store. I wasn't sure of the location...I called and spoke to the nicest woman (Vickie) and she gave me directions. I rushed over to pick up some paper....oh my gosh, did she have some beautiful papers that I had not seen before. I had to have some of it & the new Basic Grey papers. She also had a bargain basket....I picked up some beautiful papers & embellishments for 10¢ each. Needless to say I was in paper heaven & to top that, Vickie is one of the sweetest people I have met in a long time. We chatted forever and talked about new products and crafting. I was talking about my new Zutter Round-it-All & she told me she had the Bind-It-All and how she didn't care for it and wanted a spiral binder. She had already sold her Bind-it-all...which I want & love...I'm waiting on the pink one. When she mentioned the spiral binder I told her that I had one that I was going to sell because it was HUGE & HEAVY and I just didn't have a place to put it. She said she was interested & I suggested we swap products for the binder. She was fine with that. Then she told me that she had the Zutter Dream Kuts. I have been wanting one, but really couldn't justify buying it with all the things I have now & I am still unpacking more stuff trying to find a place for it all. She said she really didn't use the Dream Kuts, did I want to trade it for the binder? Can we say Whoo-hoo? What a deal! I rushed home to get the spiral binder & coils to take back to her and this is what I came home with....it was such a fun day & a win-win for both of us. I love it!!!

If you are ever in the area (Russellville, Florence, Muscle Shoals, Tuscumbia, or Sheffield, Alabama) stop in Scrapbook, Scrapbook in Sheffield. It is right down the street from Helen Keller Hospital in Tuscumbia. I hope to get back to visit and shop either tomorrow or Friday.

WOW!! I am chatty tonight...aren't I? I have one more thing to share then I promise I will hush. I mentioned earlier in this post that there is no SU demonstrator nearby. I was looking online for an SU Hostess Club (I belonged to one in IL) and wanted to find one that I could do online that wasn't too expensive. I'm trying to cut back some on my craft budget (it's out of control!!) LOL! Anyway...I found Samantha, she is a student at UTK (University of TN-Knoxville) and she was trying to get a hostess club started. I contacted her & told her that I was interested. I checked out her blog tonight & she still has 2 spots to fill before we have the 10 members needed. It is a great deal...$15 a month (plus shipping & tax) for 10 months & you get to be the hostess for one month. (Get a hostess set & other goodies.) Just wanted to mention this in case someone is like me and doesn't have a demonstrator close-by (you can now order online, but I love the interaction with other stampers.) Hope everyone had a fun weekend. I'm disappointed that my AU Tigers lost to LSU, but still proud of how they played. It was a great game.

I've had a busy, busy weekend working on some projects for Agustina (my 3rd grade pen-pal in the Fairy God-Auntie program). Her birthday is this week. I have been rushing around trying to get everything completed, so that I could get it shipped. I love cupcakes and have been wanting to make cupcake "somethings" for a while now. There are 3 parts to the Cupcake project. :o) For now I will only show one of them and share the other projects tomorrow & Wednesday...if I can hold out that long. LOL! Hope you all like them.

It's me again with another card to share. This card was so much fun to make. I didn't have a clue what I was doing, but the special little girl that I'm sending it to loves owls, so I think she will like it. It does look funny!! So me!! :o)

INGREDIENTS:
I printed the owl graphic and placed it close to the edge of my folded card. Then cut around the owl, make sure not to cut into the fold all the way.

I'm running a bit late tonight...I had a friend over & my hubby was at a hunting club meeting. He's been riding out in the woods all day on the quad. When he came home tonight he brought me this beautiful surprise.

Snake Be Gone: The snake photo is gone...it was creeping me out!! LOL!

I knew it was something creepy when he asked if I had my camera handy. I'm always the photographer of creepy things. Good thing I don't scare easily. I was sad that the snake couldn't be left out in nature. (alive). He had no choice but to shoot it because he was in the woods alone & the snake tried striking his boots. He thought it would leave, but no such luck. He was not a very nice snake, but I always hate things like that. Glad I wasn't there. :o(
BTW: It is a Timber Rattlesnake. He has 9 rattles & one button. Someone at the camp wants the rattles. EEK!!!

Sorry if I creeped anyone out with my photo...just had to share my surprise with all of you. LOL! Especially, Alison...she loves snakes so much. NOT!!

I didn't have much time to make anything tonight, so I made a quick bag topper for Halloween. The photos are not the best...had to use my flash.

I'm back!! I've been running around this evening and haven't had time to post. I wanted to share another card that I made before the day was out. I'm on a roll at the moment. LOL! I'm really trying to get back into the swing of things and back to crafting. It has been difficult with a lot of stuff still packed. I got about 10 more boxes of craft items unpacked this week, so I have more stuff to play with. Now to find a place to put all the million other things in all these other craft boxes. LOL! My hubby needs to get busy building some storage cabinets in the garage for my extra supplies that I don't need on a daily basis. He thinks I could probably do without some of this ribbon. OH NO...what is he thinking? I have to have all my ribbon and paper. LOL!

Things are coming together here finally...it is beginning to feel a lot more like home now. I love our neighbors and we have gotten into geocaching. It is so much fun. We've found several things already. I love it.

I got the call today that our living room furniture will be delivered on Saturday. WHOO HOO!! I guess waiting 9 weeks has been worth it, but it sure has taken the company a long time to make it. Guess that is what I get for placing a special order on the leather I wanted. They brought us a loaner sofa, but it will be so nice to have all the furniture here...once it is in I can hang my paintings. I'm so ready to decorate. The only thing still pending is finding DR furniture. Just can't find anything I love. I'm sure I will soon. Have to have furniture before Thanksgiving. :o)

I've rambled on & on tonight. Back to the card sharing....I went from Christmas to Halloween.

Just call me "Miss Blog Slacker" please....LOL! I haven't had anything fun to share in a while & have been overwhelmed with trying to organize this house. We are still waiting on our living room furniture. :o( I haven't found any DR furniture that I love, so still no furniture there either. I'm going to a couple of antique auctions later this month & they have some beautiful DR tables & chairs in their listings...hope they are in good shape. I have also decided that I have way too many craft supplies & gadgets and can't decide what to do with it all. I have designed a couple of things for my hubby to build for me, but he's had a lot on his plate lately, so I'm waiting patiently (not...LOL!).

OK...enough of my house woes and on to more fun things.
First of all.....WAR EAGLE!! My AU Tigers won their first game of the season. WHOO-HOO!!

Now for something fun to share....I'm a little excited about it. Not that it is anything fabulous, just a first for me. I bought this cute notebook for my new little pen pal (Agustina) with some matching pencils. Love these notebooks....designed by Jacqueline Savage McFee. A portion of the money for the sell of this collection goes to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I bought a bunch for my nieces, too.

Anyway..to get back on track. I kept looking at the colors on the notebook and since I love bright fun colors (stripes & polka dots especially) I decided to try making my first digi-papers to match the notebook. So here goes...my decorated clipboard with my very own digital papers. Those stripes were challenging to draw...to say the least. LOL! All the paper is digital that I printed...other than the white behind the letters. What do you think?

Hope Agustina likes her goodies. I'm looking forward to sharing with her this year. I love this God-Auntie program. So rewarding.

Lastly...not that I need any new tools, but this was a must have. The new pink Zutter Round-it-All. Isn't it pretty? I'm going to try it out tonight.

A Little Something to Share....

Gosh, this last month has flown by...can't believe we have been here a month & still aren't settled. We have had so much company since we arrived, most of my favorite children have been for a visit. We had kids for 3 weeks & played the entire time. We went to the lake almost daily and one day we visited the Dismals Canyon. What a neat place!! Last week we went to Illinois to pick up our boat. Rushed back on Wednesday & drove to Louisiana on Thursday for my niece's (Lauren) Friday evening wedding. On the drive back from Illinois last Wednesday, Lauren called me and asked me if I could make 1oo wedding favors because her favor order wasn't going to be delivered in time for the wedding. :O Talk about last minute requests. LOL! We arrived home about 7 pm Wednesday night & I got everything ready by midnight. We got to my sisters Thursday night about 9:30 and I was too tired to work on the favors. I finished them Friday morning in plenty of time for the wedding. This is what I came up with for their favors:

We drove 6 hours round trip yesterday to pick up my niece & nephew.
